Love the fusion of styles here! VERY COOL sound design and patterning, very well-produced.

Also a fan of that visualizer. 〰️🧿👁️〰️

thank you so much! i always love hearing feedback from you

Smooth vibe, compelling rhythms, nicely done overall. 8) Mixed feelings about the cymbals/clap though - so loud, clear, sharp, defined... my eardrums want to caress every tantalizing squiggle of crystalline soundwave, but doing so, at least initially, caused pain to happen, in a pain way. I poked some others in possession of ears for generalized opinions, and the clap/hats were a main point of criticism, though perhaps more due to personal expectations for perc priority than pain receptors (WORTHLESS OPINIONS). Unfortunately, we all know that reducing the high end at all takes the magic out of music, so... what's the harm in occasional ear spiciness, anyway?

Definitely some Very Good feedback! Glad you liked it and BONUS POINTS to you for being honest as hell, I'll revisit it when I'm able to set my computer back up to work!

even if a song sounded nothing like a slake song but I was told "this is slake inspired" I'd just be like "okay cool I'm 110% on board with this slaketastic jam"

that this sounds reasonably slake-like greatly enhances the experience of enjoying the slaketastic jam beyond the charm of the Golden Namedrop

I find myself mesmerized by this mime. Would be interested if there's much to say about specific logic regarding hue usage here. I don't have a lot of formal Picture-Doer Art Knowledge informing my interpretations of things, but I'm noting the high contrast for pressure against glass vs. hue rotations following curvature, and the sparing saturated #c1fe00 highlights sorta slotting into such rotations...

bimshwel responds:

initially i just had the correct character colors but then i remembered that the instigator had selected the "rainbow" option on my commission form, but not blended colors, so I gradually supplemented the mostly brown and grey tones with garish colors where they seemed like they would fit. I don't remember why I added in the first bright yellow green, but once I did I aimed to not add more green or a differently hued palette entry of the same luminance unless it seemed necessary. Generally, value is most important, so I whenever possible I filled in more values with whatever colors were already in use, but without any sort of plan.
I could not find a references for hands against glass that were not heavily fogged behind the hands, but still I implied a bit of blurriness, at least on the forearms, and hopefully that helped, but in the end I truly was not sure if this picture was any good!

What a photogenic array of wild characters we have here eh, some real party people from the looks of it
